This year, the summer performer programs for the Lacey Timberland Library are being held in Thomas Huntamer Park. There’s plenty of green grass for seating, but you may want to bring blankets! Programs will take place on Tuesday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m. and many families come early to picnic before the program. These programs are sponsored by Timberland Regional Library, the Friends of the Lacey Timberland Library and the City of Lacey Parks and Recreation Department. Best news in town? All programs are absolutely free!!!!

Preschool Story Times for children ages 3 to 6 will continue at the Lacey Library through the month of April. Story Times happen on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and repeat again at 1:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 4 p.m. attend this essential meeting to get ready for a book discussion that will be held the following month. Readers will be introduced to the selected title and will discuss the author and story background. Each participant will receive a paperback copy of the selected title to read and keep. On Wednesday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m., participants will meet to discuss the book. This program is limited to 12 book lover in grades 4, 5 & 6. Registration begins on March 16, 2005. Just call the Youth Services Desk at 491-3860 to sign up.

Fulbright Memorial Fund participant and teacher-librarian, Suzanne Cofer, traveled to Japan to learn about Japanese education and culture. Join her on Saturday, March 19, 2005 to hear a Japanese story, learn about the culture, make a craft to take home and sample a tasty treat. Program begins at 10:30 a.m. and is for children in grades 1-3.
